North American Savings Bank (NASB) Offers Mortgage Discount Program for Essential Workers
KANSAS CITY, Mo., (Nov.13, 2020) This week, NASB launched its HeroesFirst Mortgage Discount Program that provides eligible essential workers up to $1,000 off closing costs when they close a home loan with NASB. The discount equals a credit up to .25% of the loan amount up to $1,000, and any customer who qualifies for this program will receive no less than a $500 discount.
“NASB recognizes that millions of essential workers around the country are working tirelessly to keep America safe, fed, educated and healthy, and we saw an opportunity for NASB to provide a small financial break for these men and women while also showing our deep respect for what they’ve sacrificed to keep our country running,” said Sr. Vice President of Residential Lending Joseph Watts.
“Many of us have been able to transition to remote work during the pandemic,” said Watts. “But for the trucker hauling food across the country, the teacher balancing online and in-person learning, and the health care workers who are on the front lines of this disease--they simply don’t have that luxury. We wanted this program to show our gratitude by letting these heroes keep more money in their pockets.”
Borrowers eligible for this program include folks who work in education, healthcare, law enforcement, public safety, first responders, military service members, agriculture, transportation and the food industry. This discount program is available for FHA, VA and conventional conforming purchase and refinance loans.
